Imperial Fora

The Imperial Fora are a series of monumental fora, public squares, in the heart of Rome. They were built between 46 B.C and 113 A.D. and include the Forum of Caesar, the Forum of Augustus, the Temple of Peace, the Forum of Nerva, and the Forum of Trajan.

The Centrale Montemartini is a former thermoelectric plant which has been turned into a museum. It was officially opened in 2005 and contains about 400 Roman statues, epigraphs, and mosaics.

Ostia Antica is a large archeological site built around the location of the harbour city of Ancient Rome at the mouth of the River Tiber. The site is famous for its well-preserved buildings, frescoes, and mosaics.

HOW TO GET HERE: Coming from San Paolo Metro Station or Porta San Paolo Train Station (Piramide) take the train Roma-Lido and get off at Ostia Antica (about 20 minute ride). When you exit Ostia Antica Train Station you will find an overpass right in front of you. Cross it and walk straight ahead for about 3 minutes.
